A while ago I discovered that I love to shoot at night. The atmosphere is totally different than during the day and it gives a special touch & feeling to your images.
When Freia send me an email asking me if I would shoot her & her fiancé, fellow photographer Indra Laenens, I couldn’t resist the temptation to suggest them to shoot at night. After meeting at their home we got to know each other a little, after which we went for a walk through Mechelen, looking for some cool spots to shoot.
Lieven was kind enough to assist me that night, thanks a lot Lieven !
After a super fun evening Indra dragged us, much to our dislike
, to one of his favourte bars in Mechelen for a good-bye drink.
Lieven, once again : a huge thank you for assisting me that evening, if you ever want some photos with your girlfriend or if you ever need my help : you know where to find me !
Freia & Indra, what can I say ? You guys are 2 awesome people & truely a lot of fun to shoot & hang out with ! Thanks for a really cool evening, I had the best time & I hope to see you guys again soon !
Maybe we can do a shoot together in the near future ?
Shooting a colleague is always something special to me, I hope you like the results !

Dorien & Wim like sports : they drove to church on a tandem, did some bag jumping (or how do you translate that into English ?) during their wedding shoot, jumped out of the car on our way back because they saw an inflatable castle thingy to jump on (having to walk to the mud to get to it seemed like an added bonus to them), … Apart from that they had little squirt guns instead of the usual rice, there was some very cool flag action & an amazing party afterwards !
Dorien, Wim, family & friends (among a couple of familiar faces from high school : it was fun seeing you guys again !) : thank you all for a fantastic day !
They slideshow is a bit late for the International movie festival in Gent, but nevertheless : enjoy !

It’s Friday, yeah baby ! You guys know that feeling ? I’m guessing you do
Usually for me this means I have 2 busy days ahead, shooting weddings, but now that the wedding season is almost over I have 2 free weekends each month during November & December, and it feels goooood
Dorien & Wim got married, not on a Friday but on a Saturday, in perfect weather. The 2 love birds where shining with happyness and they even had some foreign guests (who where really cool, oh and did I mention good looking ?
)
Their civil ceremony took place in the town hall of Wichelen, although they should name it greenhouse … It’s a brand new townhall, mostly in glass. The marriage hall has 3 sides that are completely in glass, and the sun is on it the en-tire day ! The funny part ? The forgot to install an AC unit …
For their wedding shoot they found a very cool wind mill where they did some crazy stuff, but I’ll tell you more about it when I show you the slideshow
Enough writing for now, I’m sure some of you are very anxious to start looking at their wedding photos ! Enjoy !

It’s been pretty quiet on my blog the last couple of days. Why ? Well for one I’ve been very busy editting weddings, and I’m also working on a couple of “secret plans” which I can’t disclose much about, but trust me, it’s gonna be well worth the waiting !
Every wedding I shoot ends up on the blog, except when the couple explicitly asks me not to. The photos below are from two such weddings. Both couples agreed to let me show you the selected shots below
, enjoy !

8-8-2008. Me, and a lot of photographers like me, had taken upon them the holy task to capture the loving glances, tender touches, hilarious moments & tears of happines of a lot of couples that chose this special date to look each other in the eye and scream “YES” from the top of their longs.
I was in Halle that day, at the home of Cin’s parents where she would welcome Nick with open arms.
Nick, Cin’s knight in shining armour didn’t let the rain or wind stop him to meet his radiant bride
.
De civil ceremony took place in Halle, followed by a ceremony in open air close to the park of Huizingen, at Boelekewis. They asked 2 very friendly guys gifted with loads of musical talent, Nils & Wouter from Duas to provide the live music that day. (I recently heard that Annelies & Koen also hired them for their wedding in December, yeehaaa !)
During the reception & party, Cin & Nick had a special treat for their guests : the asked cartoonist Marc De Roo to draw some cartoons for their guests. People LOVED it !
(ps. Marc, thanks again for the very cool cartoon you drew of me after you finished working ! I love it !!!!)
Cin & Nick, I couldn’t wish for a more awesome 8-8-8, and, just like you, I have a lot of immortal memories from this beautifull day. Thanks for trusting me and hiring me to be your wedding photographer !
