I’m really going to have to increase my post frequency if I want to be able to post all the remaining weddings of last year & all the new engagement sessions before the end of 2009. Maybe I gotta look into making some sort of compilation for the remaining ‘08 weddings or something along those lines ? Let’s add that to my to-do list for when I get back from shooting the BK …
Today I want to introduce you all to the amazing Wendy & Johan. While we where being threatened by some nasty looking rain clouds, we drove off to shoot their engagement pictures. They sure made their homework ! From grassland to castle (or was it the castle’s hunting pavilion ?), really cool spots to shoot 2 awesome people !
Thanks Wendy & Johan for the very fun afternoon, I hope you guys like the results
A few weeks ago me and some friends drove to Switzerland for a 3 days mini break and to go snowboarding in Austria. Nope, it’s not a typo We slept in Switzerland just across the border with Austria, and the 2 ski areas we visited where both in Austria.
Our plan ? Well first of all to have huge amounts of fun ! Apart from that the first day would be more of a recognizance mission, the second day would be our shooting day and day three was free-for-all so I also had one day of snowboarding
Writing up the entire trip report would take multiple blogposts (althought it was only for 3 days …) and not everything that happened would fit on this blog so I decided to make a little movie out of it for LIME. Enjoy the movie & the images (below the movie)!
Time to spoil you guys with some more photo-goodness, I have to make up a bit for the long period of silence .
Yesterday I gave my first Shooting Day workshop for LIME (www.squeezethelime.com). It was a beautifull sunny spring day, the type of day you can only dream of when you are trying to pick a date for your workshop !
After being stuck for almost 2 hours in the huge traffic jam on the Brussels ring road I arrived at LIME headquarters in Steenokkerzeel and I got to meet the 4 participants that where attinding my sold out workshop : Jef, Jamy, Syra & Jan.
The purpose of this Shooting Day was to show fellow photographers how I work & to try and teach them some new tricks to help them improve their skills even further. Ofcourse, for this you need a couple to take place in front of your lens …
After I asked on Twitter who was willing to model during this day I was one very happy camper when my very good, Dutch friends Ellen & Marco send me a message telling they wanted to come down to Belgium and carry out this important task. Ellen & Marco are a beautifull couple & above that they are 2 extraordinary wedding photographers down in the Netherlands !
It felt awesome to see the participants go at it & to see the hotness they managed to capture using their cameras. I’m sooooo looking forward to seeing their processed pictures !
To end this fantastic day I decided to shoot the last half hour and show them how I handle a location & how I try to use all the different elements that are there. The half hour became a full hour (hey, I was having fun …) and I liked what I was seeing . Below you can find some of my shots & a slideshow showing you all the finished photos from yesterday.
Ellen & Marco : thank you very very VERY much for driving such a very long way to Belgium & to model for us ! Love you guys !
Jef, Jamy, Syra & Jan : thanks for participating & to make this day so amazing ! I hope you learned a lot & I’m looking forward to witnessing your progress myself on your websites & blogs the next couple of months !
Enjoy the photos ! In the mean time I’m going to finish packing because I’m about to leave on a 3 day snowboard shoot in Switserland. You can all be expecting a trip report next week !
Quiet, lifeless, some words to describe the status of my blog the past couple of weeks. I kind off neglected it a little bit and therefore I want to apologise.
What’s been going on the last couple of weeks ?
Well, I gave my first Capturing Romance workshop, the reactions where all very positive (those of you who understand dutch can read a report on Jef’s blog, one of the participants, here. It felt great to be able to share my knowledge with other photographers !
Also my diet is going according to plan, the scale is already indicating an 11kg weightloss. I passed the half way point and I’m feeling gooooooood !
Oh yeah, and since yesterday I became one year older, luckily the first signs of old age are still far away so I’m still filled with energy & passion to keep shooting your wedding- & engagement sessions !
Because a photographers blogpost is nothing without photos, I would like to introduce you all to Sarie & Nicolas. This afternoon we used one of first sunny, spring days of 2009 to capture their engagement session.
I still have a lot of 2008 weddings to present you & also some new engagement sessions, but since I had to finish Sarie & Nicolas’ photos today I decided to use this opportunity to show them to you right away
Sarie & Nicolas, thanks for a very fun afternoon ! Good luck designing your invitations, I’m very much looking forward to shooting your amazing wedding !
